DESCRIPTION:
The R9 from Raven is the newest pistol in Raven's line of affordable full-metal GBB pistols, and it is great if you want something very powerful and accurate.

This pistol is based on the famous M92 made in Italy; This classic design has a shape that makes it easy to recognize. Solid Snake, the US Army, John McClain, and many other real and fictional heroes have used it.

The R9 is a lovely reproduction and gives us the best balance between the original look of the R9, But with the addition of a frame rail and a shorter beaver tail at the back of the grip.

At the end of the outer barrel, there are 12mm female threads that can be used with the Raven thread adapter to add a suppressor or tracer unit.
It's nice to have this option, especially as the use of tracer units increases. And this Avoids the expense of buying and installing a threaded outer barrel.

The R9's outer barrel is made of alloy, and you can see it all through to the chamber area. This gives it the same look as the real R9 pistol and helps keep the slide's weight down so that it uses gas more efficiently.

The R9's sights are high-visibility white-dot iron sights that are easy to line up and can be used fast after a little practice. The sights are on top of the slide. They are standard combat sights that can't be changed, which gives the gun more rigidity. On each side of the R9's slide are angled serrations that make it easier to grip the gun, which is helpful when working in bad weather or when wearing gloves.

As we move down to the frame, we can see the pistol has a 20mm rail that can be used to attach laser aiming modules and flashlights to the gun. This really is quickly becoming a must-have in the modern world of Airsoft primary pistols, and it lets you tweak your R9 however you want. 

The pistol's controls are on the left side. It is best for a right-handed person to use it, but a lefty can learn to use it with some practice. The magazine release is a simple button that is positioned where the trigger guard meets the frame. Anyone who has used almost any BB pistol before will recognize how to use it. 

The slide release is right above, and it has a longer, textured section to make sure it is easy for the shooter's thumb to reach.
Before the slide, release is the disassembly catch, which can be used to take the pistol's slide off to lubricate it or make adjustments to the R9's HOP-up unit. To let go of the slide, you must first cock the gun and then take out the magazine. Next, press down on the textured button just below the disassembly catch on the right side and turn the disassembly catch on the left side down. The slide will then come off.
You can find the gear HOP adjuster on the bottom of the outer barrel.

The diamond checkering on the R9's grip panels, along with the texture on the front and back straps, make it simple to hold. At the bottom of the grip is a lanyard loop that can fit any pistol lanyard and keep the pistol from hitting the floor if it falls out of your holster. The R9 has a bigger trigger guard that makes it easy to use with gloves. The guard also has a flat front face that your support hand can utilize as a second point of control. This makes modern shooting positions like the "European grip" extremely easy to use. This is one of the benefits of having a classic design that has been updated: you get the classic, immediately recognizable look together with modern, ergonomic features that will assist you in staying on top in skirmishes.

The pistol's ambidextrous decocking/safety lever, which may be used when the action is cocked, is at the back of the slide. When the gun is ready to fire, the safety will be in a horizontal position, showing a red enamel dot to show that the gun is hot. If you turn the safety catch down while the action is cocked, the hammer will be uncocked, and the safety will be disconnected. The R9 can be carried like this, and when the safety is released, it can be fired right away because of its double-action/single-action trigger. For fast follow-up shots, the first shot will have a long trigger pull, and the shots after that will have much shorter trigger pulls. At the back of the frame, we can see the pistol's low-profile hammer. Because the R9 is a double-action trigger pull, this hammer is not meant to be used with the thumb. However, you can still manually cock the hammer to use the single-action trigger if you want to.

Performance-wise, the R9 has a 6.03mm tight bore inner barrel and an adjustable HOP. This gives it plenty of range and accuracy for a sidearm, and its solid metal slide and accurate operation end up making firing it an awesome, engaging experience. So, if you want a sidearm that is a little less common but has the look of a US Army service pistol that has appeared in a lot of movies and video games, the R9 should do the trick.

It does not come with any airsoft gas to power it in the package, but you can buy some by our airsoft gas page; we recommend green gas for use with this pistol.
